The Art of POV Cinematography: Rubu’ Qarn’s Student Innovation Film
Innovation is never a straight path—it's filled with obstacles, learning curves, and breakthroughs. Rubu' Qarn Season for Innovation wanted to capture the emotional and creative journey of a student facing challenges, overcoming them, and ultimately crafting a project she is truly proud of. The goal was to visually represent this transformation in a way that felt immersive, personal, and cinematic.

Our Approach
To truly place the audience inside the creative process, we adopted a POV first-person perspective, filming from the point of view of the object the student was working on. This unique visual approach allowed us to create an intimate connection between the viewer and the creative journey.
We shot in Open Gate—not for resizing, but to best represent the POV of the object, allowing for more natural framing and movement within the scene. To further enhance the immersive effect, we incorporated a subtle vignette with chromatic aberration, simulating the feeling of looking through the lens of the object itself.
Seamless transitions played a crucial role in storytelling, visually representing the passage of time and the evolution of the project.
Cinematography
The final film is an immersive, visually compelling narrative that not only showcases the innovation process but also resonates deeply with audiences. By merging first-person cinematography, Open Gate framing, seamless transitions, and a heartfelt voice-over, we created a story that feels both personal and cinematic—an authentic representation of a student’s passion, perseverance, and success.

The Narrative Voice
The story is told through an Arabic voice-over, offering a reflective and emotional perspective—from the student’s own thoughts and experiences. This approach makes the journey feel even more personal, allowing viewers to connect with her determination, struggles, and eventual success.
