AI Video Production
This reel is generated work, and it is filed on its own for that reason. Grolez Films sells filmed work, so nothing here is presented as a client shoot and nothing generated appears in the films grid or the main showreel. The job it does best is volume: the vertical social cuts a brand needs every week and cannot shoot every week. Around that sit the quieter uses, an idea shown before the budget is committed, a frame extended past what a permit allowed, a venue that is not finished yet. Everything else on this site was shot.

Social reels, generated
The volume problem is the one generative tools genuinely solve. A brand that needs a post a day cannot shoot a day of film a day, and the gap between shoot days is where most social calendars quietly fail. Generated vertical cuts fill it, with no permit to pull, no location fee, no call sheet and a turnaround measured in hours rather than weeks. They are written and graded to sit beside the filmed work rather than to pass as it, which is the only condition on which this is worth doing at all. A campaign that runs generated cuts between filmed ones keeps a weekly rhythm without pretending a shoot happened that week.
What this reel is, and what it is not
Every frame in this section was generated. None of it is a client deliverable, none of it is captioned as a project that was shot, and none of it sits in the films grid or the main showreel. Keeping it in one labelled place is the whole point of having a section instead of mixing the two, because it is what lets a buyer trust the rest of the site. Showing AI as AI is fine. Showing it as a client deliverable is the one mistake that would cost the brand more than it saves.
Where generative work earns its place
Beyond the reels, four jobs, and they are the ones where a camera is either impossible or wasteful. Previsualisation, so a client sees the idea before the money is committed. Plate extension and cleanup, where the shot exists but the frame needs more of the world than the permit allowed. Concept sequences for a property or a venue that is not built yet. And versioning, where one approved film becomes the cuts a campaign actually runs across formats. Worth being blunt about the savings pitch clients are currently given: generative tools change the composition of a budget rather than its tier, and they do nothing at all to the costs that dominate production in this market, which are access, permits, consent and time.
The test applied before anything generated ships
Nothing generative should change what a viewer believes about a real thing they can buy. A sky replaced over a real building is a grade. A suite invented for a hotel that does not have one is a misrepresentation, and it stays one whether it was rendered or painted. That single test settles most of the arguments on a hotel, restaurant, property or clinic project without anyone having to open a regulation.
Labelling, as the position actually stands
Our own research found no UAE rule requiring advertising to be labelled as AI-generated. That is a finding rather than a guarantee, it describes August 2026, and any brand about to spend seriously on generative creative should put the question to the UAE Media Council directly and keep the written reply. What the Council has said matters more than the labelling question: using AI to depict national symbols or public figures without official approval violates the media content standards, and using it to spread misinformation, incite hate speech, defame or undermine reputations is treated as a media offence under the Media Violations Regulations. The Council did not create an AI offence, it applied standards that already existed. The advertiser permit article covers the standards regime this sits inside, and the Journal’s full research on the AI question follows it.
The platform binds before the state does
Google began rolling out AI labelling in advertising from July 2026, and its published policy names the European Union, India and New York as the regulations driving it. The UAE is not among them, which means the obligation reaching a Dubai campaign today comes from the platform the film runs on rather than from local law. Google also cautions that using the label setting does not guarantee compliance with any specific regulation. We settle the disclosure question at treatment stage, because a decision taken after delivery usually means a re-cut.
What you own, and who is on screen
Whether generative output is a protected work under Federal Decree-Law No. 38 of 2021, and who its author would be, is unresolved, and saying so is more useful than filling the gap with confidence. In practice the tool terms of service are the operative document and the delivery paperwork is the answer, so we record which tools produced which material and hand that over with the files. Article 16 of the same law is the harder one: performers hold perpetual moral rights against alteration or distortion of their performance that would prejudice their reputation, and those rights cannot be assigned. Generative editing of someone we filmed engages that directly, which is why the release gets written before the shoot rather than after the edit. The usage rights article covers the general framework this sits inside.
How it runs on a real project
Usually as one layer inside a filmed job rather than a job of its own. The shoot happens, the grade is set on the filmed material, and the generated elements are built to sit under that grade instead of arriving with a look of their own. On the work where this comes up most, hotels, property and restaurants, the generated layer is previsualisation and extension. The thing the client buys is still filmed.
The register
Optical rather than tinted. One or two real optical devices in every frame, shallow focus with the background thrown soft, and that background a genuine continuation of the room instead of a flat panel behind the subject. No motion-blur streaks, no invented signage, no logos that do not exist. Monochrome design, silver as the only accent, and the same grade as the filmed work, so the two read as one body of work even though they are deliberately filed apart.
