Hotel and Resort Video Production

Hotel and Resort Video Production

We make film for hotels and resorts in Dubai, planned around two things a director of marketing cannot compromise on: the brand book and the opening date. Pre-opening films, always-on social, outlet and spa work, and the sales assets the MICE team needs. Editorial restraint rather than aerial montage, and a schedule built backwards from the date the property has to be live.

Pre-opening, which is a fixed window

Pre-opening, which is a fixed window

A pre-opening film is made in the weeks when the building is finished and the guests are not there yet, which is the only time a property photographs as designed. That window does not move for a production schedule, so the plan is built backwards from it: the rooms in sequence, the outlets before the fit-out crew leaves, the public spaces before the first arrivals.

Always-on, without the churn

Always-on, without the churn

Most hotel social is commissioned twice a year and consumed in a fortnight. The alternative to a hero film and eleven quiet months is a planned cycle: one shoot day producing a run of pieces across the property, the outlets, the spa and the seasonal calendar. That is a different commission from a launch film and it is the one that keeps a property present between campaigns.

What one day covers

What one day covers

Rooms in sequence, the arrival, the outlets at service, the spa in its quiet hour, the pool at the hour it actually looks like that, and the people who make the place work. Shot as a library rather than as a single film, so the calendar has something to draw on in week three.

Brand standards are part of the deliverable

Brand standards are part of the deliverable

International operators arrive with a brand book that governs framing, colour, wardrobe, signage and what may appear in shot, and social is where those standards are broken most often. We work inside it rather than presenting against it, which is the difference between a delivery that is approved and one that goes back through group marketing twice.

Where the alcohol rules bite

Where the alcohol rules bite

Filming in a licensed venue brings the UAE alcohol-advertising position with it, and it reaches what may be shown rather than only what may be said. That is a shot-list conversation before the day rather than a crop in the edit.

Seasonal without starting again

Seasonal without starting again

Ramadan, the summer months and the winter season each need their own tone, and each is a re-cut of a well-planned library rather than a new production. The properties that stay present all year are the ones that shot for the year.

The MICE film is a different film

The MICE film is a different film

A planner comparing five venues is buying evidence, not atmosphere: capacity in every setup, ceiling height, load-in access, rigging points, blackout, breakout adjacency and delegate flow. That work is bought by the director of sales rather than by marketing, and it is built as a library of per-space modules a sales manager can send the day an enquiry lands.

The register

The register

Editorial restraint. Condé Nast Traveller rather than destination marketing, heavy negative space, one hero image per page, and light doing the work. No nightlife, no wedding coverage, no aerial montage as a substitute for a point of view.

The work behind it

The work behind it

IHG anchors the hospitality work, with Loro Piana tonally and Aldar, Nakheel and Meraas behind the master-developer material. Luis Grolez, the founder, pitches personally. We take on a handful of hotel clients at a time, so the work does not blur.
